Shaping a New Vernacular: Part II

The guy’s got pants.

— Yours truly

to have got pants

To possess an aptitude for a highly specific task, craft, or profession, usually one characterized by audacity or bravura.

Ex: I looked over all the deductions I'll be claiming on my tax return, and I'm telling you, my accountant has got pants.

Oddly, those were the original words to the ZZ Top song that people know as "Legs." It was supposed to be "He's got pants", but the label suggested making the song about a woman would appeal more to their fan base.

Everything old is new again, I guess.

This guy's got pants when it comes to the music. He'll write a song about anything you ask him to and you will like it.
